A classic five-letter word puzzle. Type a guess and the tiles flip to show which letters are in the right spot, in the word but misplaced, or not in the word at all, with correct handling of repeated letters. Play the Daily puzzle, the same word for everyone on a given date, or unlimited Practice rounds. Includes an optional Hard mode, a color-coded on-screen keyboard, saved statistics with streaks and a guess distribution, and an emoji results grid you can copy to share.
How to play
Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries. Each guess must be a valid word. After you submit, green means the letter is in the right spot, yellow means it is in the word but in a different spot, and gray means it is not in the word. The Daily word changes at local midnight; Practice gives a new random word every round. In Hard mode, every revealed hint must be reused in later guesses.

Tips and strategy
- If a letter appears once in the answer but twice in your guess, only one copy turns green or yellow, and extra copies show gray.
- Use the colored on-screen keyboard to track gray letters so you never waste a guess on a ruled-out letter.
- Play Practice rounds to test openers freely, because Practice has its own statistics separate from your Daily streak.
- Turn Hard mode on only at the start of a round; it cannot be switched on after your first guess.

What are the Hard mode rules in Word Guess?
Green letters must stay in the same spot and every green or yellow letter must appear in later guesses. Shared Hard mode results are marked with an asterisk.
When does the Daily puzzle change in Word Guess?
A new Daily word starts at local midnight, and everyone gets the same word on the same date.
How does the streak work in Word Guess?
Your Daily streak grows with each Daily win on consecutive days. A loss resets it, and skipping a day breaks it too.
Does Word Guess save my game and statistics?
Yes. Your games in progress, Hard mode setting and separate Daily and Practice statistics are saved in your browser on this device.
Privacy and saves
The game runs in your browser with built-in word lists. Your settings, statistics, and in-progress puzzles are stored only in this browser's localStorage. Sharing copies a text grid to your clipboard only when you press Share. In-game ads are served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies; see the Quokka Games privacy policy.
