A relaxing color-sorting puzzle. Pour the top color from one glass tube onto a matching color or into an empty tube until every tube holds a single color. Levels grow from 3 colors to 12, and every level is checked by a solver before you play it.

How to play

Tap a tube to pick it up, then tap another tube to pour. You can pour only onto the same top color or into an empty tube, and only while it has room (4 layers per tube); all matching layers on top pour together, as many as fit. Clear the level when every tube is empty or full of one color—fewer moves earn more stars. Stuck? Use Undo, Restart, the one-per-level extra tube, or Hint.

Controls

Click or tap tubes. Keys: 1–9 and 0 pick tubes 1–10; arrow keys plus Enter or Space pick any tube; Esc cancels; U or Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes; R restarts; T adds a tube; H shows a hint.

Tips and strategy

  • A pour moves every matching layer on top of a tube, as many as fit, so pour into a tube with room for the whole run.
  • Keep an empty tube free as long as you can; it is the only place to put a color that has no matching top anywhere else.
  • Undo also lowers your move count, so you can experiment and take moves back without losing stars.
  • Three stars need no more moves than the solver's own solution, and two stars allow up to 50% more moves than that.
  • Tap the diamond button to turn on color symbols if similar shades are hard to tell apart.

Water Sort FAQ

Is every Water Sort level solvable?

Yes. Each level is checked by a built-in solver before you play it, and the length of that solution sets the move target for three stars.

How many colors do Water Sort levels have?

Level 1 starts with 3 colors and two empty tubes, and one more color is added every two levels until levels reach 12 colors.

What does the extra tube do in Water Sort?

It adds one empty tube to the current level and can be used once per level. Restarting the level removes it and makes it available again.

Does Water Sort save my progress?

Yes. Your current level, highest level cleared, stars for each level and the color symbols setting are saved in this browser's local storage.
