A Galaga-style space shooter. Cute glossy aliens fly in, sway in formation and peel off in looping dive attacks while you dodge their shots at the bottom of the screen. Catch double-shot, rapid-fire and shield power-ups, clear wave after wave, and take down a crowned boss with a health bar every fifth wave. Your best score is saved on this device.
How to play
Move your ship left and right along the bottom and shoot the alien formation. Aliens that dive at you are worth double points. Dodge enemy shots and divers; you have 3 lives. Catch falling power-ups: 2X double shot and rapid fire last 10 seconds, and a shield absorbs one hit. Clearing a wave earns a bonus, and every 5th wave brings a boss with a health bar.
Controls
Arrow keys or A/D to move, Space to fire (or leave Auto-fire on), P or Esc to pause. On touch, drag anywhere on the playfield to steer and tap to fire.
Tips and strategy
- Shoot aliens while they dive: divers pay double, and a diving crab is worth 400 points instead of 150.
- Crabs in the top row take two hits and can pull up to two escorts into a dive with them, so thin them out early.
- Losing a life cancels active double-shot and rapid-fire, so play extra carefully while those 10-second power-ups are running.
- Every power-up you catch also adds 100 points, and a power-up is guaranteed to drop at least once every 16 kills.
- Defeating a boss awards 1500 points plus 100 per wave and drops a shield power-up, so move under it before it falls away.
Star Blaster FAQ
How many lives do I get in Star Blaster?
You start with 3 lives. After losing one, your ship respawns with 2 seconds of invulnerability, and a shield power-up absorbs one hit without costing a life.
When do boss waves happen in Star Blaster?
Every fifth wave brings a crowned boss with a health bar. It gains 20 more health each time it returns and alternates between a three-shot spread and a wide fan of shots.
How do wave bonuses work in Star Blaster?
Clearing a wave adds 100 points times the wave number, so each later wave is worth more.
Does Star Blaster save my progress?
It saves your best score, best wave, games played and your Auto-fire setting in this browser's local storage.
