A falling-block puzzle built to modern rules: a 10×20 well, seven-piece bag randomizer, rotation with wall kicks, ghost piece, hold, a five-piece next queue and lock delay. Clear singles up to four-line Quads, land T-spins, chain back-to-back and combo bonuses, and survive as gravity speeds up every 10 lines.
How to play
Move and rotate the falling pieces to fill complete horizontal rows; full rows clear and score points. Clearing four rows at once (a Quad) or spinning a T piece into a tight slot (T-spin) scores big, and repeating them back-to-back earns a 1.5× bonus. Consecutive clears build a combo. Every 10 lines raises the level and the fall speed. Hold one piece for later (once per drop). The game ends when the stack reaches the top.
Controls
Keyboard: Left/Right move (hold to auto-repeat), Down soft drop, Space hard drop, Up or X rotate clockwise, Z or Ctrl rotate counter-clockwise, C or Shift hold, Esc or P pause. Touch: on-screen Hold, Spin, Drop and arrow buttons; on the board tap to rotate, drag to move, drag down to soft drop, flick down to hard drop, flick up to hold.
Tips and strategy
- Hard drops earn 2 points per row fallen and soft drops earn 1, so hard drop as soon as a piece is lined up.
- Back-to-back Quads or T-spin clears earn a 1.5x bonus, and any single, double or triple in between breaks the chain.
- Clear lines on consecutive pieces to build a combo worth 50 times the combo count times your level.
- After a piece lands you get half a second of lock delay, reset by moving or rotating up to 15 times, which is enough to tuck a T into a slot.
- Hold works once per piece, so keep an I piece in hold for when your Quad well is ready.
Block Drop FAQ
How is scoring calculated in Block Drop?
Line clears score 100, 300, 500 or 800 for 1 to 4 lines, multiplied by your level. A T-spin scores 400 with no lines and 800, 1200 or 1600 with 1 to 3 lines, and back-to-back difficult clears get a 1.5x bonus.
How fast does Block Drop get?
The level goes up every 10 lines cleared, and pieces fall faster as the level rises.
Does Block Drop save my high score?
Yes. Your best score and most lines cleared are saved in this browser.
