A dungeon-maze adventure. Each floor is a freshly generated maze hidden in fog of war that your torch reveals as you explore. Collect colored keys to open matching doors, grab coins and gems, dodge wandering slimes, and take the stairs down. Floors get bigger and hold more doors and slimes as you go deeper.
How to play
Explore the maze to find each colored key, then walk into the door of the same color to unlock it. Collect coins (1) and gems (5) along the way. Slimes cost a heart on touch; you have 3 hearts and get one back after each floor. Reach the glowing stairs to go down a level.
Controls
Arrow keys or WASD move one tile (hold to keep walking). Swipe on the maze to dash down a corridor until the next junction, or tap beside the hero to step toward the tap. On touch screens, use the on-screen D-pad.
Tips and strategy
- Check dead ends first when hunting for a key, because keys are placed in dead ends whenever the maze has one available.
- After a slime hits you, you get about 1.6 seconds of invulnerability, so use that window to slip past it instead of backing away.
- Slimes never step onto the stairs tile and cannot pass locked doors, so the exit and the far side of an unopened door are safe spots.
- Swipe to dash down a corridor to the next junction when the path is clear, and step tile by tile near slimes, which move more often on deeper floors.
- Grab gems when they are nearby: each gem is worth 5 coins, while a regular coin is worth 1.
Maze Quest FAQ
Does Maze Quest save my progress?
Yes. When you enter a new floor, your level, coins and hearts are saved, and the start screen offers Continue for that level. Losing all your hearts ends the run and clears the saved run, but your best level and coin records stay.
How many hearts do you get in Maze Quest?
You start with 3 hearts and lose one each time a slime touches you. Clearing a floor restores one heart, up to the maximum of 3.
How does each floor change as you go deeper in Maze Quest?
The maze grows larger, more colored doors and keys appear (up to four colors), more slimes appear (up to nine), and slimes move more often.
Is a key used up when I open a door in Maze Quest?
Yes. Walking into a door of the matching color unlocks it and removes that key from what you are holding.
