Try five quick rounds and compare your average, median, and best browser reaction time. Play with a tap, mouse, or keyboard.
How to play
Start a five-round test. Wait until the panel turns green, then respond as quickly as you can. An early tap restarts that round.
Controls
Tap or click the panel, or press Space or Enter when it turns green.
Tips and strategy
- The green signal comes after a random wait of about 1.2 to 3.2 seconds, so do not try to time it; watch the panel and react.
- You can respond with Space or Enter instead of clicking, so you do not have to keep the pointer over the panel while you wait.
- Compare your median with your average, because the median ignores one slow outlier round while the average includes it.
- Jumping the gun is not recorded as a time; the same round simply restarts after a short pause, so a false start only costs you a moment.
Reaction Time Test FAQ
What happens if I click too early in the Reaction Time Test?
The round is marked Too early and restarts after a short pause. The false start is not counted, and you still need five valid rounds to finish.
What results does the Reaction Time Test show?
After five rounds you see your average, median and best reaction time in milliseconds, plus the time for each individual round.
Does the Reaction Time Test save my results?
No. Results are calculated in your browser for the current test and are not stored, so write down a score you want to keep.
