A behind-the-spot penalty shootout. Swipe from the ball toward the goal to pick your spot, flick faster for power and curve your swipe to bend the ball past the keeper. Then switch gloves and guess the dive against the AI striker. Win four shootouts in a row against sharper keepers to lift the cup, or chase a high score in 60-second Target Practice.
How to play
Swipe from the ball toward the goal: where you release is your aim, a faster swipe hits harder (too hard balloons over the bar), and a curved swipe adds curl that can fool the keeper. On defence, pick a dive before or just after the kick. Tournament: 5 kicks each then sudden death, four rounds with rising difficulty. Target Practice: hit as many goal targets as you can in 60 seconds; smaller targets, bullseyes and streaks score more.
Controls
Swipe or drag from the ball to shoot. Tap the goal or the dive buttons to save. Keyboard: arrow keys aim, Q/E set curl, hold and release Space to shoot; arrows (Up+Left/Right for high corners) or Down to stay when diving. Esc pauses.
Tips and strategy
- Do not swipe at full speed: the hardest shots spread more and start to balloon over the bar, so a firm but controlled flick is more accurate.
- The AI keeper reads the ball's starting direction, so a curved swipe that bends the ball late can send the keeper diving the wrong way.
- When you are in goal, pick your dive before the kick; an early choice triggers the dive at the moment of the kick, while a late tap reacts slower.
- In Target Practice, a goal that misses every target scores only 10 and resets your streak, so always aim for a target.
- Small targets are worth 250 points against 100 for the largest, a bullseye near the center adds 50, and each hit in a streak adds 25 more.
Penalty Kick FAQ
How does the Penalty Kick tournament work?
You play four shootouts, from the Round of 16 through the Final, against keepers that get sharper each round. Each shootout is five kicks per side followed by sudden death, you shoot first, and one loss ends your cup run.
How is Target Practice scored in Penalty Kick?
Targets are worth 100, 150 or 250 points depending on size, a bullseye adds 50, and consecutive target hits add 25 more per hit in the streak. A goal that misses the targets is worth 10, and a miss or save resets the streak.
Does Penalty Kick save my records?
Yes. Your best tournament finish, the number of cups you have won and your best Target Practice score are saved in this browser's local storage.
