A side-view lane war against an AI commander. Spend gold to train melee, ranged and heavy units that march out and fight whatever they meet first, earn gold and XP from every kill, and evolve from the Stone Age through the Medieval Age to the Modern Age for stronger troops and a new base. Build up to three base turrets, call in a meteor shower, arrow rain or airstrike, and knock the enemy base down before it does the same to yours. Easy, Normal and Hard AI, 1×/2× speed and pause.
How to play
Tap a unit card to queue it for training — units march right and fight the first enemy they meet (melee up close, ranged from a distance). Kills pay gold and XP. When the Evolve button lights up, evolve to unlock stronger units, a tougher base and a new turret and special. Build up to three turrets to guard your base, use your special when enemies bunch up, and destroy the enemy base to win.
Controls
Tap or click the cards to train units, build or sell turrets, launch the special and evolve. Keys: 1/2/3 train, T turret, X sell turret, Q special, E evolve, F toggle 1×/2× speed, P or Esc pause. Drag the battlefield or tap the minimap to look around on small screens.
Tips and strategy
- Every kill pays 1.3 times the enemy unit's cost in gold and double its cost in XP, so killing expensive heavy units speeds up your next evolution.
- Evolving raises your base's maximum health and adds the difference to its current health, so it doubles as a big heal.
- Save your special for bunched-up enemies; it starts ready after 20 seconds and then needs 50 to 55 seconds to recharge.
- Turrets sell back for only half their cost, so build them when needed rather than selling and rebuilding.
- Ranged units have less health than melee units of the same age, so send a melee or heavy unit ahead to soak hits while they shoot from range.
Age of Battle FAQ
How much XP do I need to evolve in Age of Battle?
You need 1,000 XP to move from the Stone Age to the Medieval Age, and 4,000 more to reach the Modern Age, which is the final age.
How many turrets can I build in Age of Battle?
Up to three. A turret's type matches your age when you build it, and selling one refunds 50 percent of its cost.
How does the difficulty change in Age of Battle?
Harder AI thinks faster, earns more gold from kills, builds more turrets and fields more units. Winning on Normal or Hard also multiplies your victory score.
